Funerals

The loss of a loved one can be an unexpected and life-changing moment. I will work with you to create a service that is a most fitting tribute and celebration of the life of the person that has passed away.

Following our initial contact I will arrange to meet with you either in person (if times allow), or via video chat or telephone. This is an easy process that I will support you through.

I will ask you to share details and memories of the life of the person who has passed away with me. I will then use those precious details to write a service and eulogy that truly reflects them and the life they lived. If you wish, I can create a totally non-religious funeral or include spiritual or religious elements, such as hymns, readings or prayers. I am also able to conduct funerals for members of the Pagan community that may include elemental blessings, calling in of deities and rituals.

As well as writing your loved one’s eulogy, I will help you to create and structure the service. We can choose poems, songs, pieces of music or create visual tributes. Family members or friends may also wish to participate, we can discuss how this can be achieved and I will be on hand to support and help prepare them for their contribution if needed.

Once the service and eulogy is written, you will have time to make any changes that you feel are appropriate. I will keep in touch with you every step of the way and ensure that your wishes are honoured. I will also work closely with your chosen funeral director to ensure that everything runs smoothly in accordance with your wishes.

On the day of the funeral, I will deliver the service that we have created together, providing any support that is needed to members of family and friends who may have chosen to contribute. Sometimes, understandably, the emotions of the day take over, and the person who is responsible for reading may not be able to, I will be on hand to step in and read on their behalf. The service will provide an opportunity for you to celebrate the life of your loved one and say farewell in a way that is most appropriate to you.

Following the funeral, I will provide you with a parchment copy of the service for you to keep.
